Form,

Subject+Helping Verb Was & Were+Ing Form+Object

Examples:

  1. He was doing a great job.
  2. They were eating food.
  3. The teacher was teaching in a class.

Changing State:

Was Getting, Were Getting

Form,

Subject+Was getting & Were Getting+Object

Examples:

  1. He was getting to do a great job.
  2. They were getting to eat food.
  3. The teacher was getting to teach in a class.
